Aguero signs for Barcelona on a two year deal as the Argentine’s spell at Manchester City has officially come to an end.
Sergio Aguero has agreed to join Barcelona on an agreement that will last until the end of the 2022/23 season.
Barcelona has verified that Aguero’s buyout clause is set at €100 million (£86 million), and that the player will sign his contract this evening at 6 p.m. local time (5pm UK time). On Monday afternoon, the club announced that he had completed his medical.
On Monday, he will be presented at the Nou Camp and will hold a press conference beginning at 7 p.m. (6 p.m. UK time). After his City deal ends on July 1, the forward will become a Barcelona player.
Aguero departed City and signs for Barcelona having won five Premier League titles, one FA Cup, and six League Cups, marking him one of the most significant players in the club’s history.
Despite helping City win the league title this season, Aguero withdrew after coming on as a replacement in the Champions League final against Chelsea at the Estadio Do Dragao in Porto, where his side lost 1-0.
