Akuapem Poloo, an indicted actress, has been granted bail of 80,000 Ghana cedis (N5.6 million) with two factual guarantors by an Accra High Court.
We reported earlier that the actress was sentenced to three months in prison for publishing a naked photo of her and her child sometime last year, which was later deleted after so much chastise.
Akuapem Poloo, however, has been fortunate to have been granted bail after so many of her fans requested for her release which includes top Ghanaian celebrities.
She pleaded guilty to charges of publicizing obscene materials, engaging in domestic violence, and discrediting human dignity.
Her conviction stirred controversy, with some of her fans signing a petition requesting for her discharge.
Following this, the court, headed over by Justice Ruby Aryeety, granted her bail on Wednesday.
The Justice noted that she will only travel with the court’s express permission.
As part of her bail conditions, Aryeetey instructed Poloo to report to the case investigator every two weeks.
She also asserted that the actress must leave her passport with the court’s registrar.
