Aregbesola’s presidential ambition, however, seems not to be what was been reported a few months ago as the Minister of the Interior, has disregarded the risk of running for president in 2023.
Aregbesola asserted that appropriate consideration has to be given before he enters the presidential race in 2023.
The former governor of Osun State was taking questions about his plans to run for president in 2023 at a virtual colloquium in Abuja titled “Africa: Interrogating the Leadership Questions.”
Aregbesola declared to be part of a group of focused and serious politicians.

The news of Aregbesola’s presidential ambition has been going on for some time now with reports that it has resulted in a feud between Aregbesola and his political “godfather,” Bola Tinubu, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The alleged schism was said to have been linked to Aregbesola’s decision to run for president in 2023.
As a result of Aregbesola’s decision to run for president, factions within the Lagos State Governors Advisory Council, or GAC, have surfaced.
