Chelsea accept Roma’s €40m transfer bid for Abraham with a buy-back clause

Amid a contact with Jose Mourinho and significant interest from Arsenal, the 23-year-old has refused to agree to personal terms.

Chelsea has agreed to a €40 million (£34 million/$47 million) transfer bid from Roma for Tammy Abraham, which includes a buy-back clause.

Tiago Pinto, Roma’s general manager, is ready to seal the transfer as soon as possible, with Edin Dzeko slated to join Inter as a successor for Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku.

Amid a contact with Jose Mourinho and significant interest from Arsenal, the 23-year-old has refused to agree to personal terms.

A buy-back clause in Chelsea’s transfer request for Abraham will permit the club to re-sign its striker for a specified price in the future.

While this set sum is expected to be hefty, it maintains the Blue’s interest in the player.

Given the fact that Abraham has failed to make a significant impact under current Blues manager Thomas Tuchel, a future Blues manager may desire to see the homegrown sensation return to the capital.

What has Tomas Tuchel said about Tammy Abraham?

Tuchel maintained total nondisclosure regarding Abraham and the potential arrival of Lukaku for £98 million ($136 million).

He did, however, provide clarity into his relationship with the striker, which has deteriorated following Abraham’s difficulties for the past six months.

According to Tuchel about Abraham, he proclaimed

It is the same as players coming in, I will not comment on the actual situation, how far it is, and if it’s true or not true.

Tammy is in the squad and did good preparation matches. He was clearly not happy with the last half a year and he has maybe reason not to be happy.

Maybe it was my fault not to push him and trust him at the same level as other players.

I can understand he wants more minutes, so the decision will be how do we plan? What are Tammy’s plans? Does he fight his way back into the team from the position he ended last season Or does he want to change the club to one where he has a better chance of being a starter? I can understand and this is the situation.

It’s quite a normal situation until the transfer window is closed.T ammy is one of the players where we constantly evaluate the situation and adapt to the needs.

There is no news now, he is available for the starting XI tomorrow or to come off the bench
