Court detains man who allegedly defiled his three daughters

The perpetrator, who purportedly acknowledged the crime, said he was under the influence of alcohol when he defiled his three daughters

Igbo Thomas, 48, has been detained in the Awka Correctional Centre in Anambra State on an accusation of defiling his three daughters by an Anambra State High Court.

Thomas, who is from Enugu State, was reported to have committed the crime in Enuoji village, Enugwu Ukwu, Anambra State’s Njikoka Local Government Area.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Anambra State Command had detained him for the offense on May 24, 2021, in the Okolo Ani community, Igbo Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The perpetrator, who purportedly acknowledged the crime, said he was under the influence of alcohol when he defiled his three daughters.

As per a statement issued by the NSCDC state Public Relations Officer, Edwin Okadigbo, the NSCDC Commandant, Vincent Ogu, has requested a private inquiry into the situation before prosecuting the suspect.

Okadigbo said,

The suspect was arraigned at the High Court, Awka on Wednesday and was ordered to be remanded at the Correctional Centre by the Judge.

it will be recalled that on 24/5/2021 Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Anambra State Command arrested one Mr. Igbo Thomas of Okolo Ani village Igbo Etiti LGA Enugu State for allegedly having canal knowledge of his three daughters.

Upon conclusion of thorough investigation, the suspect was arraigned at the State High Court Awka and has been remanded at Awka Correctional Centre by the Judge.
