Covid-19 kills Nurse, one other person in Edo state

The Edo State Government reported the death of a 56-year-old male nurse and one other person who died as a result of Covid-19 complication in Auchi General Hospital on Friday.

The deceased were not vaccinated, according to Ebomwonyi Osagie, head of the state’s Coronavirus Case Management.

Four patients have been discharged in the previous 24 hours, according to Osagie.

According to him, there are now 925 verified cases, 646 ongoing cases, and 35 deaths in the state.

Also addressing, Dr. Osamwonyi Irowa, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, declared the state had not confirmed any death from the immunization exercise, despite speculations to the contrary.

He emphasized that the state administration was determined to avoiding Coronavirus-related death among its people.

Irowa professed his grief at the demise of the health worker and assured that the state government will do everything it can to secure the people and prevent them from dying.
