After Fulani herdsmen were chased out of Igangan town, Oyo state by Sunday Igboho a few months ago, scores of gunmen invaded Igangan in the state’s Ibarapa North Local Goverontshnment Area, murdering about 20 people.
The assailants reportedly struck at midnight, killing, despoiling, and razing buildings. The hoodlums, who the Igangan people’s Spokesperson, Mr Taiwo Adeagbo, identified as Fulani herdsmen, also burned down the monarch’s palace in the town.
Mr Tunji Omolewu, the incumbent caretaker chairman of the council, authenticated the retaliatory attacks, stating he rushed down to Igangan this morning to verify the assault.
