Ahead of the Fury vs Wilder 3 match, Tyson fury has said it looks like he needs to crack Deontay Wilder’s skull again.
Fury was close to an agreement to confront Anthony Joshua, the WBO, WBA, IBF, and IBO champion, in a full division unification on August 14 in Saudi Arabia.
On Monday, unfortunately, those plans were crushed when an arbitrator ruled that Fury had to respect a negotiated rematch clause with Deontay Wilder, and that he had to do so by September 15.
The clause is connected to their rematch(Fury vs Wilder 3) in February 2020, when Fury defeated Deontay Wilder in the seventh round at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and won the WBC title.
Wilder would then use a rematch clause to impose a rematch.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the third fight was repeatedly postponed.
Fury’s handlers notified Wilder that his rematch clause had officially ended in October 2020, urging the once-beaten boxer to file a legal proceedings to restore his right to a third fight.
Fury, however, took to social media to say he’s prepared to fight Wilder in the ring.
In a message Fury posted on his social media page, he said
Former heavyweight Malik Scott, Wilder’s co-trainer, recently announced that his boxer was not willing to participate in a rematch clause.
