At the age of 38, Igor Vovkovinskiy, the tallest living man in the United States recently died.
Igor Vovkovinskiy, who was 7 feet, 8.33 inches tall, died on Friday, Aug. 20 in Minnesota, as per the Associated Press via NBC News. In a Facebook post, Igor’s mother, Svetlana Vovkovinska, verified that he died of heart disease.

According to the Associated Press, Igor Vovkovinskiy immigrated to the United States from Ukraine in 1989 to seek medical treatment for a brain tumor pressing against his pituitary gland, resulting in altered growth hormone levels in his body.
During an interview on The Dr. Oz Show in 2010, Guinness World Records declared Igor as the tallest living male in America at the age of 27.
Igor, who lived in Rochester, Minnesota, was outspoken about the troubles he endured as a result of his physique. Igor was hospitalized for weeks at a time due to severe physical discomfort, and in his later years, he has undergone 16 surgeries to help reduce the distress, he told 60 Minutes Australia.
