Xherdan Shaqiri, a midfielder for Liverpool, has decided to join Lyon for £9.5 million, according to Goal.
The two clubs have reached a deal on a cost for the 29-year-old, who has been given the approval to go to France to seal his move.
Personal conditions have allegedly been reached, with Shaqiri expected to sign a four-year deal with the Ligue 1 club.
Liverpool had earlier this month dismissed Lyon’s initial bid, rumored to be worth roughly £4 million, which sources, described as “absurd.”
However, Lyon’s sporting director Juninho Pernambucano and manager Peter Bosz’s ambition to grab their top summer target has materialized in a deal being agreed upon following extensive conversations.
Shaqiri had announced his intent to move from the Reds this summer in quest of regular playing time. Since arriving from Stoke in 2018, he has made 63 appearances for the club and has won the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, and Premier League.
