Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has emerged number one on Billboard’s next big sound chart.
On a list of 15 on the chart, Tems comfortably outranks Korean girl group Fromis 9 and Cherry Bullet, American Disney star Joshua Bassett, and Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez, among many other acts.
Tems’ position is based on a forecast for the third week of May, beginning on May 22nd.
After four weeks on the charts, the singer of “Damages” has made it to number one.
Tems emerged on four billboards in four cities across the United States, as well as the fifth billboard in Lagos, Nigeria, just a few days ago.
Temilade Openiyi, best known by her stage name Tems, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer from the United Kingdom.
Tems was born in the United Kingdom to a Nigerian mother and a British father. Her parents divorced when she was five years old.
Tems latest effort was her contribution and verse on Wizkid’s song “Essence” which was widely accepted and got her more uncovered to the world.
